Landmark earned its gateway status by adopting TSA's DCA Access Standard Security Program (DASSP). Briefly this program requires TSA pre-approval of pax and crew lists 24 hrs before flight, notification of flight specifics and an armed security officer on board.

Cutter ABQ is building a 20,000 sq ft hangar and modernizing its terminal building. Changes are part of companywide upgrades underway at many of the 8 airport hubs that Cutter now operates in 5 southwestern states. New hangar will be the first at ABQ capable of housing large corporate jets with tails as high as 26 ft.

Aviation Technologies Inc (ATI) has been awarded a 15-yr contract to provide FBO services at AVP (Avoca PA). ATI plans to expand its customer base by investing in a long-term project to build a state of the art hangar. ATI hopes to attract larger corporate aircraft operators who wish to take advantage of the new PA law that eliminates sales tax on aviation related labor services.

ASIG Panama breaks ground on new Signature FBO at PTY (Tocumen, Panama). Design includes a private jet terminal, 7000 sq ft of spacious lobby, pilot lounge, dedicated customer parking and on-site customs. ASIG began operations at PTY in 2011 as the sole provider of aviation fuel. ASIG and Signature are BBA companies.

Galaxy PBI is building a new 65,000 sq ft hangar. Slated for completion Q1 2014, the new hangar will be able to accommodate long-range jets and will include a lounge area, flight planning, catering and 15 office suites. Concrete is being used in construction to ensure better stability during hurricane-force winds.


Tom Harris has been named president of Alliance Av Services AFW (Alliance, Ft Worth TX). Bringing over 30 yrs of industry experience, Harris began his career with Hillwood Properties at AFW. He is focused on completing the runway extension program where Alliance's twin runways will be each be lengthened to 11,000 ft.
