McCreery Aviation and Avfuel have joined forces. A full service FBO located at MFE (McAllen TX), McCreery Aviation offers a variety of GA services including maintenance, aircraft sales, parts, avionics and charter, plus a flight academy. Avfuel will provide McCreery Aviation with quality assurance, credit processing and marketing. The Avfuel network consists of 600 branded dealers and more than 2000 fueling locations worldwide offering Avfuel contract fuel.
Paragon Aviation Group has added 4 new FBO members to its network. In January and February Aero Air at HIO (Hillsboro, Portland OR), First Aviation Services at TEB (Teterboro NJ), Galvin Flying Service at BFI (Boeing Field, Seattle WA) and Maguire Aviation at VNY (Van Nuys CA) joined the network. Paragon is owned and operated by Delk's Valley Oil, a family business consisting of Mike Delk, Megan Delk Barnes and Molly LeBlanc.
Sunrise Aviation at OMN (Ormond Beach FL)—an FBO and flight school—is installing an automated flight data capture and analysis system, which also incorporates a CVR system, in its GA airplanes. Sunrise says it has already installed the Wi-Flight system in one of its 40 training aircraft, and will expand it to 3 aircraft during a short evaluation period. In time, Sunrise expects to install Wi-Flight in all its 30-plus single-engine aircraft.
Wi-Flight is a combination FDR/ CVR that sits atop the airplane glareshield and automatically records, uploads to the Internet and analyzes data from each flight. Wi-Flight will e-mail Sunrise Aviation whenever a flight exceeds school-set safety parameters, including flights in unauthorized airspace, low-level flights or even hard landings.
Wi-flight's playback features will also allow flight instructors and students to review each flight visually through the use of Google Earth 3D simulations. The audio features of Wi-Flight will permit playback not only of each radio transmission to ATC but will include all crew intercom communication and ambient noise.
Sale of BP Products North America's interest in Epic Aviation to Downstream Aviation has been finalized. BP and Downstream have entered into exclusive brand and supply agreements. Epic will continue to operate under the Air BP brand for service to the GA sector in the US and Canada. Epic, operating as Air BP Aviation Services, supports the fuel and business needs of a branded dealer network of nearly 400 FBOs in the US and Canada. The management team and supporting staff continue to be based out of Salem OR.
Ross Aviation has acquired the assets and the leasehold of the FBO formerly operated by Atlantic Aviation at FAT (Fresno CA). The FBO will consolidate into Ross Aviation's existing onfield operation, Corporate Aircraft. With this acquisition, Corporate now offers over 250,000 sq ft of hangar and 55,000 sq ft of office space at FAT. In addition to being a full service FBO, Corporate Aircraft operates a Part 145 repair station specializing in Cessna Citations and Conquests and Hawker Beechcraft King Airs.
Corporate Aircraft is a Cessna authorized service center and parts distributor, and also provides a broad selection of avionics services and products to GA aircraft. Ross Aviation CEO Jeff Ross notes that the additional ramp and hangar space allows the relocation of aircraft from other FBOs and airports in the region, and provides the capacity to expand the aircraft maintenance operation at FAT.
