SheltAir Aviation has added 7 facilities to its Hiller Group-Chevron branded network of FBOs—DAB (Daytona Beach FL), ECP (Panama City FL), JAX (Jacksonville FL), PIE (St Petersburg–Clearwater FL) as well as FLL (shown above), LGA and SAV. SheltAir operates a network of 13 FBOs throughout Florida, New York and Georgia, 10 of which are now serviced by the Hiller Group.
Aero Centex has launched a new FBO at GTU (Georgetown TX). The facility has 25,000 sq ft of hangar and terminal space as well as 70,000 sq ft of reinforced ramp space. Aero Centex offers Wi-Fi access, onsite rental cars, catering and full concierge service. Line service personnel have been trained in NATA’s Safety 1st program. The facility is an Avfuel-branded fuel provider.
Long Beach Air Center at LGB (Long Beach CA) is now part of JetFlite Intl. The Air Center, one of 5 FBOs at LGB, has 3 buildings with 41,000 sq ft of hangar space, 20,000 sq ft of office space and 50,000 sq ft of ramp space. The FBO offers overnight hangar space, aircraft detailing, complimentary Starbucks coffee, wireless Internet, NATA Safety 1st-compliant line service, separate customer and pilot lounges, HDTV, flight planning room and WSI weather. A fuel farm holds 84,000 gal of Jet A and 20,000 gal of avgas. JetFlite FBO Division Pres Kerry Gerot will oversee the LGB operation. Jet Flite also operates an FBO at FRG (Farmingdale NY).
Salt Lake JetCenter SLC, part of the Rocky Mountain JetCenter network of FBOs, and ProJet Aviation at JYO (Leesburg VA) have joined the Avfuel branded network. Both FBOs will offer Avtrip points and participate in the Avfuel contract fuel program. Salt Lake JetCenter offers US Customs, crew cars, catering, WSI weather and rampside rental car delivery. ProJet, relatively new to JYO, offers overnight hangar parking, rental cars and catering. ENV Airport (Wendover UT) has also signed on with Avfuel. The airport is the former Wendover AFB, near the Bonneville Salt Flats.
Shell-branded FBOs were among the award recipients at this year’s Tennessee Airports Conference, held from Aug 18–21 in Nashville. Gatlinburg–Pigeon Forge Aviation at GKT (Sevierville TN) won the award for Tennessee Airport of the Year, and THA (Tullahoma TN) was voted Tennessee’s most improved airport. In addition, Walter McCauley of McCauley Aviation at M91 (Springfield TN) was named Tennessee Airport Manager of the Year.
