Stuart Jet Center SUA (Stuart FL) has joined the Avfuel network of branded FBO dealers and now honors the Avtrip reward program on qualifying fuel purchases, together with the Avfuel contract fuel program. Stuart Jet Center offers a private passenger lounge, conference space, catering, complimentary beverages and cookies, auto valet and courtesy limo service. Crews have access to a dedicated pilot lobby, lounge with massage chair, snooze room, showers, courtesy cars and shuttles, full flight planning and wireless Internet access. The FBO’s 53-acre facility has over 15 acres of lighted and secured ramp space and approximately 250,000 sq ft of hangar space.

TAC Air has signed an agreement to use FlightAware FBO ToolBox at all 13 of its facilities and 25 other airport locations. Together with Flight­Aware tracking information, FBO ToolBox offers additional data for FBO managers such as potential fuel uplift calculations and visit counters, augmented with Amstat information. FlightAware provides flight tracking, flight data and flight planning services.

The Hiller Group, a distributor of Chevron-branded aviation fuels in the eastern US, has purchased Air Petro Corp, which supplies Chevron-branded aviation fuels in the western US. The purchase is due to be finalized on May 1.

Air Associates of Missouri now offers pilot training, aircraft rental and maintenance services from the west terminal at SUS (Spirit of St Louis MO). Air Associates was named a Cessna pilot center in Dec 2009 and is backed by Air Assoc­iates of Kansas, a full service FBO at OJC (Exec, Olathe KS). The OJC facility offers flight training, aircraft rental and maintenance. Air Associates of Kansas also provides aircraft management and client services

Hawker Pacific and Shanghai Airport Authority have opened a new joint-venture business aviation facility at SHA (Hongqiao, Shanghai, China). Initially, the joint venture will offer full customs, quarantine and immigration services as well as aircraft hangarage. When fully operational in 4Q2010 the facility will have complete MRO and aircraft management capabilities. The 33,370 sq ft full service FBO contains a lounge, offices, theatre and conference facilities for customers as well as rest and service areas for pilots. The 43,055 sq ft workshop and hangar is large enough to house 2 BBJs side by side. The SHA facility will have an additional dedicated apron area and will be capable of handling up to 6000 aircraft movements a year. The company expects heavy business jet traffic during World Expo 2010, which begins in Shanghai in May and will continue for 6 months. Hawker Pacific has also made a significant investment in establishing service centers in Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines and expanded these operations with the opening of a product and service support centre at SZB (Subang, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia).

Saker Aviation Services at GCK (Garden City KS) has moved into a larger facility. The expansion comes in conjunction with the company’s recent name change from FirstFlight to Saker Aviation Services. The facility is a full service FBO with charter, aircraft rental, flight instruction and maintenance, with full amenities and pilot services. Two additional locations have been rebranded as Saker Aviation Services—AVP (Wilkes-Barre/Scran­ton PA) and JRB (Downtown Manhattan Heliport, New York NY). Saker Aviation Services AVP is a full service FBO equipped with a 24/7 Part 145 repair station.


Contrary to an item that appeared in February’s FBO News, FBO Plus is not the parent company of Eastern Aviation Fuels. Houston TX-based FBO Plus is the owner and publisher of FBO Manager, a Windows-based aviation software package, while Eastern Aviation Fuels is the exclusive distributor of branded aviation fuels for Shell Oil Products US. The 2 companies have joined forces to provide more than 300 locations with FBO Manager.

Last month’s feature “FBO chains, networks and affiliations” (Pro Pilot, Mar 2010, pp 92–98) contained a factual error regarding Odyssey Aviation and its ownership. In fact, Ken Allison is president of the 7 US Odyssey locations, while Steven Kelly is president of the 3 Odyssey Aviation Bahamas locations. Also, the lower photograph on p 94 was an archived image received from Million Air before its former NAS (Nassau, Bahamas) facility was rebranded as Odyssey Aviation Bahamas more than 2 years ago. Odyssey Aviation Bahamas is the owner and proprietor of this facility, and the caption failed to convey this.
