New management at Sebring Flight Center

Airport Business Solutions (ABS) Aviation Management Services has taken over management of all day-to-day activities at Sebring Flight Center, the Avfuel-branded FBO at SEF (Sebring FL). ABS Aviation Management Services is now handling customer relations, training, safety, fuel quality control, ordering and pricing. The FBO's customer service philosophy now includes an assurance that all visiting aircraft will be met and greeted on arrival. ABS employees who developed what later became the NATA Safety 1st program carried out staff training during the transition period. GFK Flight Support has moved into a new 25,890 sq ft facility at GFK (Grand Forks ND). The FBO features a 300 sq ft conference room, a 400 sq ft pilot lounge equipped with a 52-in TV, and 2 sleep rooms. Two 2009 Subaru Legacy crew cars are also available. A new 15,625 sq ft heated hangar can house aircraft up to the size of a GV. GFK Flight Support mechanics are available 24/7.

Havasu Air Center at HII (Lake Havasu City AZ) has joined the Avfuel network. Recently completed renovations include a 5500 sq ft terminal, a new weather awning and a 100,000 sq ft hangar. The terminal has all standard FBO amenities plus a theater room. Havasu Air Center is also offering a free night of hangar space after the first 10 gallons of fuel purchased, no matter what the type of aircraft. Avfuel contract fuel purchases will earn 6 points per gallon on fuel purchased through Mar 31, and the FBO will be offering pilots introductory AvTrip reward points.

Air 10 Jet Center at LUK (Lunken, Cincinnati OH) has formed a new company, Reynolds Jet Management, to handle charter and managed aircraft projects. The 2 companies will continue to cooperate with each other as partners but will pursue their growth separately.

Atlantic Aviation is now accepting US Bank's Multi Service aviation fuel card at its 63 FBO locations across the US. Atlantic customers can apply for the card at any of its locations.

ExecuJet managed 354 private jet movements connected with this year's World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. Despite concern from the ZRH (Zurich, Switzerland)-based FBO that traffic would be down from last year owing to the current global economic climate, it saw an 8% increase in movements and a 15% rise in fuel sales.

Million Air Gulfport-Biloxi is due to open in May. Located in the new air cargo and GA area at GPT (Gulfport MS) this latest addition to the Million Air chain will include a 12,500 sq ft terminal building and 20,000 sq ft of hangar space. Terminal facilities will include a pilot lounge, flight planning area and 3 conference rooms, plus on-site US Customs. It will also feature a café, fitness center and theater room.

Last flight

Epps Aviation Lead Customer Service Rep Dan Winborne died on Feb 8. He was 60 years old. During the 10 years that Winborne had been with Epps, he became a fixture of the PDK (Dekalb-Peachtree, Atlanta GA) FBO. He gained several votes in the 2009 Pro Pilot PRASE Survey. Prior to working as a CSR for Epps Aviation, Winborne had been in marketing for Southern Airways. He had previously been employed in the travel industry.


Mark Woinicki (L) has been promoted to dir of maintenance with Panorama Flight Services at HPN. Prior to joining Panorama, he was a technician at the Cessna Citation Service Center at SWF (Newburgh NY) and Jet Aviation TEB. Woinicki also served with the US Air Force for 28 years. Dwain Earl Fye (R) is also joining Panorama's maintenance team. His background includes 10 years with the US Army and another 27 at Cessna's SWF Citation Service Center.

Jill Timmins is the new VP Western Canada for Skyservice Business Aviation YYC (Calgary AB, Canada). Before joining Skyservice she worked for Canadian fashion department store Holt Renfrew.
