EMS Satcom's new eNfusion HSD-Xi-a SwiftBroadband single channel extension terminal enables a second SwiftBroadband channel on the HSD440 high-speed data transceiver, providing more bandwidth for inflight office applications.
The combined system also offers "classic" services in an 8-plus-2 modular concept unit (MCU) form factor. First installation of an HSD-Xi terminal was on a US-based Bombardier Challenger 605.
The HSD-Xi high-speed data terminal operates in conjunction with the eNfusion HSD440 to provide an additional channel of Swift 64 services or a channel of Swift_Broad_band services. It allows users to switch automatically from SwiftBroadband to Swift 64 if required. In this mode it offers 3 channels of Swift 64 service.
