Air Routing Intl (ARI) is offering online access to weather services, flight planning, fuel arrangements, intl trip handling and concierge services. Introducing the Web-based products at the NBAA convention in Orlando FL were ARI CIO John Leigh-Page (L) and VP of Sales Tim Maystrik. Rockwell Collins acquired AR Group and its affiliated companies, including ARI, on Nov 24. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
UK Border & Immigration Agency will provide dedicated staff for the new Ocean Sky terminal at LTN (Luton, London, England). This will save clients of the UK-based aviation company significant processing time, allowing faster transit to and from London.
Air BP Aviation Services VP Sales & Marketing Steve McCullough was at NBAA to introduce the Bravo Points rewards program. Free membership is available through participating Air BP FBOs in the US and Canada or online at MyBravoPoints.com. Points may be divided among several flight dept members and redeemed for merchandise, trips, savings bonds and event tickets or donated to charities identified by Air BP.
Avfuel Corp and Richmor Aviation SWF (Newburgh NY) have announced that Richmor has joined the Avfuel branded network. Avfuel now supplies Richmor SWF with fuel and related services, including its fueling rewards program, AVTrip. Richmor Aviation SWF services corporate aviation with helicopter shuttles to all Manhattan heliports and onsite US Customs for overseas fuel stops. As part of the alliance, Richmor Aviation is now a dealer of Avfuel contract fuel.
Panorama Flight Service at HPN (White Plains NY) has broken ground on a major FBO facility upgrade. The project includes a redesign of the first floor of the main building and an upgrade to furnishings and decor. Other planned renovations include an increase of the usable ramp space available by replacing light poles with a building mounted lighting system. The project was scheduled to have been completed by Thanksgiving.
Million Air Gulfport–Biloxi at GPT (Gulfport MS) has broken ground on a new FBO facility and hangar. Projected opening is Apr 2010. Once complete, this will be the only full service FBO at the field. Located on the SW general aviation area of the airport, the 54,000 sq ft facility will be open 24/7 and include a full purpose-designed and built FBO as well as aircraft maintenance, management and sales/acquisitions services. Amenities will include onsite customs, weather service, pilot lounge with snooze rooms, exercise facility, 3 executive conference rooms, a theater room and café as well as rental cars and a courtesy crew car. Full onsite catering will be another feature. There will be a business center with computers and printers as well as facility-wide WiFi and a state-of-the-art security system. Fuel service will be available on the ramp and the FBO has service rights for the terminal and cargo areas as well. Million Air Gulfport–Biloxi will offer ConocoPhillips fuel. Initial employment will be 18–25 new jobs.
Rizon, the Middle East and UK-based executive aircraft charter and management group, is working toward a Feb 2010 completion on its new US$16-million 13,000 m2 hangar and FBO/VIP terminal facility in BQH (Biggin Hill, England). Jackie Nikolajsen is now general mgr at the BQH facility and joins the firm from ExecuJet Europe, based in Denmark, where he was technical director. Andrew Pearce, who joined Rizon UK in May from TAG Aviation as dir sales and marketing Europe, has been promoted to head of aircraft management and charter for the Rizon Group. Two and a half years old, Rizon has offices in Qatar, the UK, Bahrain and the UAE and is focused on providing VIP travel and business aircraft support in the Middle East, Europe, India, Russia, the Far East and Africa.
At the recent NBAA convention, the City of Ocala, in partnership with Marion County and the Ocala/Marion County Economic Devt Corp (EDC), unveiled development plans for a business park at OCF (Ocala FL). The property offers 121 acres of mixed-use commercial land, 444 acres of distribution-industrial land and 113 acres of flexible space that could be used for expansion of aviation operations or for aviation-dependent businesses. The project will cost $2.9 million. The City of Ocala will install water, sewer, fiberoptic and electric service. ExcelAire has announced an extension of its grand opening promotion, waiving ramp fees at its ISP (Islip NY) FBO. A full range of services for passengers, crews and owners is offered. As ISP falls outside NYC’s Class B airspace, departure and arrival delays are virtually nonexistent. ExcelAire can supply quick turn service for aircraft making tech stops and is approved by TSA as a departure point for travel to DCA (National, Washington DC). It also offers customs clearance for international arrivals.
