American Eurocopter has delivered an EC135 to PHI Air Medical Group, marking the 2500th delivery by American Eurocopter to the US. PHI took delivery of the first US-based AĆ©rospatiale SA3130 Alouette II in 1957. AĆ©rospatiale later became part of Eurocopter. Max-Viz has received EASA approval of the EVS1500 for European-based Bell 212s, 412s and 412EPs. Customers already operating the EVS1000 can upgrade the infrared sensors to gain the dual field of view.

EastCare Air has ordered a Eurocopter EC145 to be based at C91 (Pitt County Hospital, Greenville NC). The EMS operator purchased the helicopter as part of a move to develop a wholly-owned fleet. The company currently flies leased BK117s.

Kanematsu, AgustaWestland's Japanese representative, has sold 14 AW109s and 2 Grands to the Japan National Police Agency (JNPA), adding to JNPA's current fleet of 21 AW109s. It also brings the number of orders Kanematsu has secured this year for AgustaWestland to 21.

Omniflight Helicopters has acquired LifeStarOne, a Savannah GA-based EMS helicopter service. LifeStarOne served southern and southeastern Georgia through the Memorial University Medical Center Hospital. Omniflight will continue LifeStarOne's operations as normal under the name LifeStar and will keep the existing crews intact. This acquisition adds to Omniflight's existing operations in the region.

Chevron has ordered 2 AgustaWestland AW139s to support offshore drilling operations in the Gulf of Mexico. The helicopters will be based at 1LA9 (Chevron, Intracoastal LA), 4LA4 (Chevron, Leeville LA) and 8LA5 (Chevron Heliport, Venice LA). Chevron chose the AW139 to support deepwater drilling locations because it is capable of 500-nm round-trip flights without refueling.

Sundance Helicopters, a helicopter tourism company based in Las Vegas NV, has taken delivery of its 3rd Eurocopter EC130. The company operates EC130 and AS350s on tours of the Grand Canyon, Lake Meade and Hoover Dam.

Hydro One, a power line inspection and maintenance operation wholly owned by the Ontario government, has selected SkyTrac to provide satellite communications and flight tracking systems. SkyTrac will install the needed equipment on Hydro One's fleet of helicopters. This equipment will help increase safety across the fleet while they operate on the nearly 18,000 miles of power lines Hydro One is responsible for in Ontario.

Ukraine's Ministry of Emergencies has purchased 2 Eurocopter EC145s. They will be based in the Kiev region and used for various rescue, firefighting and other emergency missions. Eurocopter Pres & CEO Lutz Bertling notes that this is the company's first cooperation with Ukraine.
